Pit Bull Case in Henderson County, TNUPDATE: August 29, 2006 Court Case Held Over To The Grand Jury - Next court date: To Be Announced
A woman is now prosecuting the case, no longer Bill Martin. When Johnson’s lawyer asked for a plea bargain, the new prosecutor said “NO”. Hopefully, the animals tortured and murdered in this case will receive some justice. I hope the media reports all this – others who abuse animals in Tennessee need to know responsible, civilized citizens will not look the other way.

May 9, 2006 - David Foster reports there is another mutilated dog and a skull of another dog. Regarding the photos below, the dog on the side of the road is the red and white dog hit by a car. The third photo down is a photo of the tail end of a brindle and white dog.
May 8, 2006 - Per Debbie Foster, Henderson County Humane Society:
This is concerning me more and more. I have more pictures. They are graphic..you might not want to look at them. The dog that was hit by a car is still lying there. And the one that was decapitated has been moved to a different place and is still on the property...
I guess that's the same one I don't know...David said there was what appeared to be a skeleton of an animal near the pen, but his battery ran down on the camera...also there were lots of leashes ,etc, hung out around in the trees...Bill Martin has been fighting us on the
animal cruelty issue from the very beginning...We have tried to get other animal cruelty cases prosecuted, but got nowhere...we have pictures of starving dogs, and we could never get anything done...also in this county there were two horses shot and they know who did it
and as far as I know they didn't do anything to them either.
May 7, 2006 - There has been an arrest in this case. Class E Felony Aggravated Cruelty to Animals - $10,000 bond. There were originally seven dogs, one dead at the scene, one hit by a car and killed, and five were rescued and are safe. They are being cared for at an undisclosed location.
